Meet the Doctors
Meet Dr. Helen
"Being able to connect with children to help alleviate their fears and build their confidence is wonderfully satisfying. It’s all about having a good time here at CreatingSmiles. In fact, I have the best of both worlds- to care for children and treat their teeth… keeping them happy and healthy! " - Dr. Helen
Dr. Helen was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and received her undergraduate education at New York University with a major in Biology. She completed her dental education at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where she received a 2 year Health Professions Scholarship from the U.S. Army and earned her DMD degree in 2006. She then went on to serve two years as Captain as a general dentist at Fort Eustis, VA. Subsequently, Dr. Helen moved back to New York to join a practice focusing primarily on children and patients with special needs; she then immediately realized her most enjoyable days were spent treating toddlers and children. With her heart set on pediatric dentistry, she went on to pursue her pediatric specialty training at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center. There, she received extensive training in treating children with special needs, pediatric trauma care, sedation and hospital dentistry. Dr. Helen is also on staff at Saint Barnabas Health. In addition to private practice, Dr. Helen is currently a Clinical Professor at NYU Langone in New York teaching Pediatric Dentistry to dental residents. In addition to her love of pediatrics, Dr. Helen participates in the annual Give Kids A Smile day donating her time helping low-income children receive free dental care.
Dr. Helen is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Not only is she Board Certified in Pediatric Dentistry, but she is also a Certified Scuba Diver. In her free time, she loves baking and reading thrillers but her greatest joy is horseback riding and hiking in New Jersey.

Did you know?
Like a medical specialist, a dental specialist has extensive knowledge and skill in his or her particular area of expertise. Unlike general dentists or family dentists, credentialed specialists receive 2 to 3 years of additional training in addition to four years of dental school, focusing on their specific field of interest.
